Roundup: Troy girls basketball opens tournament by upsetting Open Division contender

Troy’s ladies basketball team really did not only constructed off its current development.

The Warriors drank up CIF-SS Department 1.

Junior Anaiyah Tu’ua racked up 17 points and fresher Hannah Stines scored 16 as the Warriors dismayed Diocesan Montgomery 66-54 on the first night of the Troy Classic.

Junior Gaby Tan included 12 factors for the Warriors (4-2), that completed second at the La Jolla Country Day Sweet 16 Invitational on Saturday.

Troy is rated 16th in Department 1 while Bishop Montgomery is third behind No. 1 Sierra Canyon as well as Windward.

“Our girls played difficult as well as together versus a really excellent team,” Troy instructor Roger Anderson claimed. “Anaiyah’s leadership with our young group in priceless.”
